Thanksgiving

Turkey and hot pot, consumed. Pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake, key lime tart, and fruit tart, sampled. Hm, belly is quite full, body feels quite sluggish, but heart feels warm from being around loved ones. Sounds about right, Thanksgiving dinner is officially over.
Whether it is flying into SJC or exiting the Stevens Creek exit, there’s this irreplaceable comforting feeling coming home. It’s a hard feeling to put into words. A mixture being child-like giddiness mixed with a big sigh of relief-temporarily (or maybe illusionary) relieved from everyday responsibilities (school, work, studying).
So many things to be thankful for. Though Thanksgiving serves as an official holiday to stop and reflect on the things I’m thankful for, it also serves as a good reminder for me to be proactive with quieting my mind down each and everyday to talk to God. Spiritual growth does not come naturally with time. I have to constantly be guarded against falling into mundane routines where I easily taking things for granted. And instead, to approach each day with a heart felt gratitude for all the blessings, both obvious and ones in disguise, that I am able to experience and live through. BIGGER PICTURE.
Looking forward to Christmas celebrations in a few week :) On a side note, my family is doing Christmas cards for the first time..ever! One of my favorite photos from this afternoon.
